TITLE III - DEFINITIONS
SECTION A - WHAT COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TOOLS ARE
-
Cookies.
They may be defined as follows: “text strings that websites (so-called Publishers, or ‘first parties’) visited by the user, or different websites or web servers (so-called ‘third parties’), place and store – directly, in the case of publishers, and indirectly, namely through the latter, in the case of ‘third parties’ – within a terminal device (that is, a computer, tablet, smartphone, or any other device capable of storing information) available to the User”.
The information encoded in cookies may collect personal data, such as an IP address, a username, a unique identifier or an email address, but may also contain non-personal data, such as language settings or information about the type of device a person is using to browse the website.
Cookies therefore make it possible to: 1) allow, among other things, web pages to load more quickly, route information over a network — thus in line with requirements strictly connected with the operation of websites themselves; 2) deliver behavioural advertising and then measure the effectiveness of the advertising message, or adapt the type and manner of the services provided to the behaviour of the User previously observed.
-
Other tracking tools.
These may be defined as follows: passive identifiers that allow processing similar to that described above. These include fingerprinting, “that is, the technique that makes it possible to identify the device used by the user through the collection of all or some of the information relating to the specific configuration of the device adopted by the data subject. This technique may be used to achieve the same profiling purposes, also aimed at displaying personalized behavioural advertising and at analyzing and monitoring the behaviour of website visitors, or to adapt the type and manner of the services provided to the behaviour of the user previously observed”.
This website uses cookies only; therefore, this notice will be limited to cookies.
SECTION B - CLASSIFICATION OF COOKIES
Cookies may have different characteristics and therefore different classifications:
- From a temporal perspective, based on their duration, they are divided into Session Cookies (they last until the internet browser is closed) or Persistent Cookies (they remain active after the User has closed the browser, e.g. the cookie for language selection, which allows the User, on future visits, to be automatically directed to the website in the chosen language).
- From the perspective of origin, from a subjective point of view, cookies are divided into First-Party Cookies (sent to the User’s browser directly by the website being visited and belonging to it) or Third-Party Cookies (those belonging to domains different from the one shown in the address bar, i.e. different from the Website being visited).
- from the perspective of the purpose (that is, based on the use) of the processing of personal data, they are divided into Technical Cookies (used for browsing the webpage and not requiring user consent), Statistical Cookies (used for website optimization purposes directly by the Website Owner, who may collect information in aggregate form on the number of users and how they visit the website), Marketing and Profiling Cookies (advertising cookies, intended to provide advertising spaces. They may be installed by the Website Owner or by third parties only after obtaining the user’s consent; they may be sent to the User’s browser by third-party companies directly from their websites, also for their own purposes, possibly including profiling).
TITLE IV - THE MAIN COOKIES USED BY OUR WEBSITE
For the management of website cookies, including user consents, we use the Cookiebot CMP consent management platform (privacy policy https://www.cookiebot.com/it/privacy-policy/), which allows consent to be modified or withdrawn at any time through the icon available on the website.
This tool allows the user to view the updated list of cookies present on the website, their individual descriptions, retention periods, and the place where data are processed, with reference to third-party policies.
The types of cookies used by the website may be divided as follows:
SECTION A - TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL COOKIES
used solely for the purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or, to the extent strictly necessary, to the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the contracting party or the user, to provide such service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1 of the Privacy Code). These help make the website usable by enabling its basic functionalities and do not require Users’ consent because the website cannot function properly without these cookies.
The technical and functional cookies used by the website:
-
Technical cookies.
- Purpose: Session or browsing cookies: they ensure normal browsing and use of the website (allowing, for example, navigation through pages, access to protected areas of the website, payment by credit card or by other systems, etc.).
Functional cookies: useful for supporting the User’s personalized browsing experience (e.g. to keep track of the chosen language).
LEGAL BASIS: Performance of a service, a contract or pre-contractual measures, art. 6(1)(b)
NATURE OF THE PROVISION: The provision is necessary to make the website and the service requested by users usable.
-
Functional cookies
- Purpose: Functional cookies to ensure the highest level of website security and protection for the benefit of the user and our organization, in addition to making it usable.
LEGAL BASIS: legitimate interest of the Owner, art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
NATURE OF THE PROVISION: necessary for connection to the website and provision of the service
SECTION B - STATISTICAL COOKIES
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect statistics, which allows greater privacy-related adjustments. This tool does not record or store individual IP addresses; Analytics provides approximate geographic location data by deriving the following metadata from IP addresses: city (plus the derived latitude and longitude of the city), continent, country, region, subcontinent (and equivalents based on the ID). Data of Users located in the EEA are collected in the EEA, and Google Analytics 4 collects all these data (based on the geographic lookup of the IP) through domains and servers located in the EU before forwarding the traffic to Analytics servers for processing. This is stated by the provider of the tool itself https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/12017362?hl=it.
- Purpose: they are used to optimize the website directly by the Owner, for the design of the Website or to help measure its “traffic”, that is, the number of visitors, possibly also broken down by geographical area, connection time slot or other characteristics.
LEGAL BASIS: consent pursuant to art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
NATURE OF THE PROVISION: optional; consent is expressed by the User through the cookie information banner.
SECTION C - MARKETING AND ADVERTISING COOKIES
“used to associate specific actions or recurring behavioural patterns in the use of the functionalities offered (patterns) with identified or identifiable subjects for the purpose of grouping the different profiles into homogeneous clusters of varying size, so that the controller may, among other things, also tailor the provision of the service in an increasingly personalized manner beyond what is strictly necessary for the provision of the service, as well as send targeted advertising messages, that is, in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the web” (see art. 4 of the GPDP Guidelines of 10.06.2021).
- Purpose. These cookies are intended to provide advertising spaces. They may be installed by the Website Owner or by third parties only after obtaining the user’s consent; they may be sent to the User’s browser by third-party companies directly from their websites for their own purposes.
With regard to third-party cookies, the Owner has no control over either the activity and purposes of the third party or the possibility that such cookies may change over time. In this respect, the Owner acts as an intermediary. In this capacity, reference is made to the third party’s notice in the table below.
LEGAL BASIS: consent pursuant to art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
NATURE OF THE PROVISION: optional; consent may be given or withdrawn at any time directly through the dedicated area accessible in the footer.
Our website uses Google Ads marketing functionalities. These functionalities make it possible to display advertising based on the user’s personal interests, identified through an analysis of the user’s behaviour on the web, whether on a mobile device or other devices. As required by the applicable privacy legislation, prior consent is required for the installation of such cookies.
TITLE V TRANSPARENCY IN THE USE OF COOKIES
We want to make the use of cookies and similar technologies as transparent as possible.
The user may decide whether or not to accept cookies by using their browser settings.
or

At each access following the first — through the Cookiebot icon placed in the footer of each page of the website — the User may access a dedicated area and modify the consents previously selected.
